Scolecite w/ Apophyllite

Item Description

A really unusually fine and sculptural 360-degree diverging "starburst" of stout, terminated, glassy, transparent to translucent, scolecite lathes from recent finds at Jalgaon. The densely compacted blades reach about 5.5 m in the middle of the piece. Scattered tiny sharp gem colorless apophyllite crystals are a fine and typical accessory. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. One small spot of broken crystals near the base is out-of-sight in the several fine display views. Fine radial clusters of scolecite crystals are a highly desirable Maharashtra Zeolite species. Valued at $600 by previous dealer and I think it is worth more as this is an unusual example and sparkly cluster of a normally boring mineral species. Better in person!
