Scolecite (rare)

Scolecite is well-known among mineral collectors, but gem enthusiasts are always on alert when a faceted example of this zeolite species appears on the market. The only place in the world that consistently produces any gem quality crystals of Scolecite is the Deccan Trap in India. Most faceted stones of Scolecite are well under 1 carat in weight, due to the thin nature of the crystals themselves. This is a lovely "Oval Brilliant" cut stone with virtually eye clean clarity. It's completely colorless like all gem Scolecites, but is larger than almost everything we've had to offer in the past. If you collect rare gems, don't pass up the chance to get your hands on one of these incredibly hard to find examples.
