An exceptional and rare large matrix scolecite from this classic Iceland zeolite locale. This striking and most sculptural piece consists of dramatically intergrown sprays of glassy prisms, to about 6.7 cm, complimented by the dense clusters of smaller crystals and the attached basalt matrix. Specimens of this size and quality are RARE from here. Undoubtedly older material, but no proof. A true and desirable Iceland classic. Ex Paterson Museum Collection. I cannot say as I have ever seen one for sale. Valued $1000
