Schorl with Muscovite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A cool display specimen of Schorl with Muscovite from an undisclosed locality in Plumas County, California. The piece hosts sharp, lustrous, prismatic, jet-black crystals of Schorl with a semi-"spray" like growth which is covered by silvery-beige colored semi-metallic Muscovite. The largest Schorl measures about 4.1 cm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6920) with a label from J. Gisler & Son. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
