Item Description
A dramatic and aesthetic specimen of lustrous schorl crystals accented with contrasting microcline from the Erongo Mountains and the Jack Halpern Collection. The impressive, upright, stout, trigonal, schorl is complete all-around and pristine. All of the schorls have unusually etched terminations, that remind me of the Giants Causeway of basalt columns in Ireland. Classic and way above average material from this noted locale. Jack has a well-deserved reputation for aesthetic specimens and this is a fine example of his tastes. It is complete all around, and highly aesthetic. He paid $900 for this recently, which I think was frankly a bargain. (and then traded me a number of things in an exchange, and I selected this from what he had just bought at tucson 2011)
