Item Description
Highly lustrous, well-striated, jet-black schorl crystals are densely intergrown on this sculptural and showy small cabinet from Basha Valley of the well-known Shigar District of Pakistan. The trigonal schorls reach 2.3 cm and some are partially doubly terminated. Scattered patches of pearlescent muscovite plates are a nice contrast and typical accessory. There is some noted scattered contacting and bruising - a modest detraction. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2001. Highly representative example of the species and locale.
