Item Description

A SUPER RARE and impressive small cabinet schorl from an unknown pegmatite in the very obscure Anza area in the Cahuilla Mining District of Riverside County, which includes the well-known Audrey Lynn, Fano and Lithia Dike mines. The striking, sculptural 360-degree piece is composed of a myriad of highly lustrous, well-striated, densely intergrown, parallel-growth schorl crystals. Snow-white albite and a pod of pearlescent muscovite plates add contrast and color. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, for all the terminated crystal density. Contacting to a few terminations at the top have little actual damage and only a couple of bruised secondary crystals have certainly only negligible impact to the overall very high quality of this piece.
