Item Description

A fascinating, very rare style schorl crystal from this renowned Minas Gerais locality. The sharply terminated, highly lustrous, well-striated prism has fabulous etching on two sides, with the hole right through the middle! You can even see a couple of thin "hairs" in the hole. Also, the schorl is bi-colored, as areas above and below the hole on both sides have subtle grape-purple color! The complex termination has a mostly matte finish. Pristine. Undoubtably old-time material from the 1960s or 70s, but no proof. Ex Art Soregaroli Collection. Art was the Co-Editor of the large format, 2010, 544 page, Peru - Paradise of Minerals book.
