Item Description

Mexican schorl specimens of this large size and style are rare. This impressive plate of large jackstraw crystals lies on a quartz matrix. The striking and unusual triangular crystals reach 6.0 cm and have weird nubby terminations and etched sides. The crystal luster is highly variable, ranging from splendent to moderate to matte and the crystals have fine chatoyancy, when rotated in light. Most unusual, yet very showy. Periphery wear on one side is out of sight. All of the major schorls are pristine and this dramatic piece has many display orientations. Older material from the 1960s or 70s and seldom on the market in this quality. Ex Dick Heck Collection. This rare material is valued highly by many people, on the market
