Item Description

This an attractive and aesthetic specimen from the most well-known Tourmaline locality in Pakistan. The specimen hosts a trio of sharp, prismatic, striated, jet-black Schorl Tourmaline crystals measuring up to 2.4 cm long, which are associated with gemmy, colorless, lustrous, prismatic Quartz crystals measuring up to 2.0 cm long. Minor Muscovite can be seen on the back of the piece. Overall the piece is in fairly good shape, but there some contacted areas, so the piece is not pristine. It's still a showy and eye-catching piece that is not your run-of-the-mill Tourmaline for the locality. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
