Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are rare from this less well-known San Diego County pegmatite. This is a rare, very fine and aesthetic, 360-degree combination piece from the Bob Trimingham Collection. A 3.7 cm, lustrous schorl crystal with a matte/coating termination and a sculptural 5.5 cm, glassy, transparent to translucent smoky quartz crystal with nifty, sharp terminations are the focal points. Muscovite plates, bladed cleavelandite clusters and smaller quartz crystals comprise the matrix. The schorl is pristine and the smoky has only a small ding on the secondary termination. A MUST for the pegmatite or species collector.
