Item Description

Mineral specimens, in general, are very uncommon from this obscure Cahuilla Mountain pegmatite in Riverside County. This impressive large two-sided combination is highlighted by a 8.2 cm lustrous, jet-black schorl crystal with a sharp offset pyramidal termination on the contacted side. The crystallized feldspar on the front hosts numerous RARE for the locale isolated parallel-growth terminated translucent smoky quartz crystals with frosted faces. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. A large, highly sculptural and RARE two-sided combination from the Lithia Dike Mine and probably dates to the early 1980s finds. A must for the California pegmatite or species collector. Miraculously, not repaired. We assume that Bob, himsel a noted field collector, found this himself.
