Item Description
A very hard to find specimen of Schorl Tourmaline from Albany, Maine (no specific quarry was given on the label) featuring a prominent, sharp, well-formed, jet-black trigonal crystal measuring 3.6 cm across in the center of the piece, with additional Schorl crystals (including one partial crystal on the back measuring 5.0 cm across), sitting on a matrix of Quartz and Muscovite. The main Schorl is in good shape, though there is one nick on one of the edges. The piece displays quite nicely and would make a good addition to any Tourmaline suite, or a collection of Maine/New England minerals. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen, and comes with a label from the collection of Art Smith stating it was acquired from J. Oliver in July of 1977.
