Schorl on Smoky Quartz

Item Description

A cute and uncommon combination from the pegmatites of Minas Gerais. While schorl and smoky quartz are common enough, aesthetic combinations of this quality are very uncommon. Three, sharp, lustrous, jet-black schorls are pleasingly set on the intergrown cluster of very glassy, transparent to translucent smoky quartz crystals. The fine doubly terminated schorl is 1.2 cm. The gemmy smoky with schorls has a gently bruised sharp termination. Bruising or contacts are noted at the other ends. This remains a very showy and uncommon combination from the famous locale. The piece has multiple display views.
