Item Description

A lovely small cabinet sized matrix specimen featuring a very sharp, highly lustrous, jet-black trigonal prims of Schorl Tourmaline, aesthetically flaring out of a translucent Smoky Quartz crystal of a medium hue. The Schorl measures 3.7 cm and is undamaged. Very attractive for a "black rock", and this a rarely seen matrix Schorl specimen from Myanmar. We had this one priced at $850 in the inventory. From the collection of Bill ("Burma Bill") Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill traveled the world for decades in search of fine gems and minerals, and was directly involved in the in-person acquisition and importation of superb specimens and stones from Myanmar (Burma).
