Item Description

Weird and RARE oddball-shaped small cabinet combination from this less well-known San Diego County pegmatite - the Blue Lady Mine. Lustrous black schorl crystals are festooned on the highly unusual mounded hemisphere of densely intergrown cleavelandite albite blades. The schorls reach 1.7 cm and the only quartz crystal on the piece is just below this large schorl. Complete all-around, a contact on an edge is out-of-sight in the primary display views. The piece was probably recovered sometime in the 1980s or 90s. See MINDAT: https://www.mindat.org/loc-55868.html for more information on the pegmatite. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection. A most fascinating, highly unusual looking and rich combination from the locale.
