Item Description
An impressive, large 12.2 cm, highly lustrous, well-striated, jet-black trigonal schorl dominates this sculptural combination from a new find in the famous Shigar Valley. The striking matrix is composed of intergrown schorl crystals and blocky bone-white microcline crystals coated with creamy lepidolite microcrystals. Most of the smaller schorls have broken terminations, but one is complete. The large schorl is nearly pristine, with only the broken tip of a small sidecar crystal about one-third the way up from the microcline crystals. An excellent and highly representative combination example from the new find with a fine large schorl. One of the largest schorl crystals in the lot we received.
