Schorl, Lepidolite, Microcline & Hyalite Opal

An imposing, aesthetic and SURPRISING large schorl combination from recent finds in the well-known Shigar Valley. The impressive, pristine, large, well-striated, trigonal schorl has a sharp pyramidal termination with both shiny and satin luster prism faces. The base of the schorl hosts a sculptural cluster of sharp bone-white microcline crystals nicely accented with smaller schorls. A field of lepidolites courses up one side of the schorl. Blebs of bright to faint yellow HYALITE OPAL are visible on the microcline and lepidolite crystals, but the real SURPRISE of neon-green hyalite opal is revealed under SW UV light. The opal coats the lepidolite on the side of the schorl and some of the microcline crystals. A fascinating and rare combination from the locale.
