Item Description
Intersecting lustrous, jet-black, schorl/foitite crystals are dramatically flanked by glassy, water-clear, terminated quartz points included with schorl needles on this stunning, sculptural small cabinet combination from the Erongos. The striking trigonal primary pristine schorl termination is probably composed of a myriad of typical small rod-like crystals of Foitite, a rare member of the Tourmaline Group. Correct identification is only possible by suitable analytical methods, but the guidance from the literature is that the species are mixed in this style, as described above. The artistic quality of the quartz crystals on either side of the schorl/foitite is exemplary. AND a super bonus on the back is the rich neon-green fluorescence of the off-white hyalite opal! An outstanding, pristine 360-degree combination from the Shields Flynn Collection. Valued at $750-1000.
