Item Description
A good quality, sharp, well-formed, broad trigonal crystal of jet black Schorl Tourmaline from an unknown locality. It's impossible to say if this is from Brazil, Pakistan, Namibia or somewhere less common for the material, but it remains a very nice example of this well-known Tourmaline species. There are few contacts around the edges, but the termination is in great shape. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7729). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecord.com/pdfs/Kay%20Robertson%20Collection.pdf ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
