Schorl (doubly-terminated) (ex Brooks Britt Collection)

Item Description

A fine quality and very attractive doubly-terminated Schorl Tourmaline crystal from Brazil. The given locality on the label is "Nanuque", but I can't find a listing for this locality anywhere. With that said, the piece is a wonderful example of the species as it features incredibly lustrous faces on both terminations and the prism faces, along with graceful thin striations on alternating faces. The primary termination features incredibly smooth, glistening trigonal faces, while the other end has a bit of interrupted growth from a bit of embedded Quartz and Feldspar. A great specimen for any fan of Tourmalines or Brazilian minerals. Valued at $750 for the superb quality. From the collection of Brooks Britt (specimen #TUR-8).
