Item Description
Tiny rosettes of pearlescent muscovite plates engulf all sides of the diverging spray of parallel-growth, lustrous jet-black schorl crystals on this RARE and sculptural 360-degree old-time combination specimen from this extinct locale in Plumas County, near the Nevada State line. The schorl crystals reach about 9.0 cm long on this very interesting rarity. Combination specimens of this quality were collected between the mid-1940 to about 1980, when the locality was considered mined out. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. RARE and showy old combination material from Thompson Peak.
