Item Description

A 3.3 x 3.1 x 2.6 cm, sharp, lustrous, schorl crystal is dramatically perched atop the large matrix of granular quartz with blocky feldspar crystals from this classic New Hampshire pegmatite. Well-crystallized schorl specimens from famous quarry are uncommon and desirable. The schorl is complete all-around and pristine. One lower, out-of-sight side is contacted, but has no damage, per se. UV light reveals a patch of neon-green hyalite opal next to the schorl and there is no evidence of glued repair. An excellent and rare large matrix schorl specimen from this noted locale and the Robert Whitmore Collection. Value??
