Item Description

Remarkably fine and uncommon schorl from the Fano Mine. The textbook jet-black trigonal crystal has high lustre that compliments the well-striated prism faces. The complex pyramidal termination is nicely accented by patches of muscovite. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. One prism edge has a small contact with no damage. The piece is probably from the 1980s finds . Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. The former dealer label has a $400 price. The specimen is certainly worth more today.
