Dramatic, and significant, cluster of sharp, lustrous, and striated Schorl crystals. Each of the Schorl crystals has the classic striated faces and the famous trigonal (Mercedes) terminations. Every one of the terminations has a mirror-like luster, and a few of the crystals are even doubly-terminated. The largest of the Schorls is 5.5 cm long and 3.8 cm across. Impressive! There is almost no damage (just a few peripheral contacts to smaller crystals at base). Certainly one of the finest larger Schorl clusters I have seen, it just seems carved and geometric compared to most. Valued $1500. THIS IS A MAJOR SCHORL, for locality and species!
