Schoenfliesite, etc on Magnetite (Vajdak Coll.)

Item Description

Some of the finest examples of schoenfliesite, a very rare Mg-Sn hydroxide, come from this historic locale on the Czech side of the Erzgebirge. Yellow-brown to whitish crusts richly cover both sides of the hefty, layered ore matrix wedge, that is mostly magnetite. The rich ore, according to the label, also contains the rare borates hulsite and ludwigite. A very rare and excellent combination piece from the Josef Vajdak Collection, a noted Czech specialist.
