Item Description

Here's a great one for your rare stone collectors! This gem is from the type locality for Schlossmacherite AND Ceruleite, the Emma Luisa Mine in Chile (it's the ONLY known locality for Schlossmacherite). This "Freeform" cut stone features green patches of the rare sulfate Schlossmacherite with a sky blue zone of the slightly less rare sulfate Ceruleite. Obviously, Ceruleite gets its name for caeruleus (the Latin word meaning "of or pertaining to the sky".), and Schlossmacherite is named for Karl Schlossmacher, the Honorary President of the German Gemmological Society. I don't know how many of these gems are out there, but this is the FIRST and only stone of this material that I've had to offer, so if you collect rarities, especially colorful rarities, don't miss out on this unique and very hard to find stone.
