The specimens from Pingwu are some of the most unique and attractive minerals from any locality in China. Without question, the most impressive specimens of Scheelite are found at this locality, which have set the standard for the species worldwide. This specimen hosts a fine quality, sharp, lustrous, gemmy / translucent, pseudo-octahedral crystal group of strong orange colored Scheelite measuring 4.0 cm across associated with compressed, crystallized, bladed, silvery Muscovite. The quality is very good all around, with only a tiny imperfection that I can see on the top of the termination of the Scheelite. Even the underside it not broken, but has a bit of re-crystallization where it detached from the pocket wall. A great quality association specimen from this unique locality, and the Scheelite displays that classic blue fluorescence under UV light for which the species is known. Priced at $1,200.
