Item Description

The famous and reclaimed Tae Hwa Mine in South Korea many years ago was one of the shining beacons for tungsten-bearing mineral specimens. It was famous for producing gorgeous Scheelite crystals (some of which show rarely seen purple hues!). This large miniature / small cabinet sized specimen hosts a few sharp, well-formed, pseudo-octahedral (pyramidal tetragonal) crystals of rich golden-brown colored Scheelite measuring up to 1.8 cm across which are associated with compressed "disc"-like crystals of white Calcite along with soft silvery-beige colored "rosettes" of Muscovite. This particular association of Scheelite with Calcite and Muscovite is RARE from this locality, as we've only seen a few of them over the years. If you're a fan of Scheelite, tungsten species or specifically specimens from what might be the most famous locality in South Korea, do not miss out on this beautiful specimen that dates back at least 50 years.
