Item Description
Very rich dark orange to yellow-orange color on this impressive, stout, large for the locale, compound terminated pseudo-octahedral tetragonal scheelite crystal from this remote Russian locale. The lustrous, translucent crystal has excellent form and GLOWS with color, when back lit! Scheelite specimens from this obscure far eastern Siberian tungsten-tin mine, near to Alaska, are easily the finest Russian examples that have reached markets in the West. Specimens trickled out before and after the fall of the Soviet Union in the 1980s and 90s and were never common. Ghostly gray-white fluorescence. A very fine example from the Chet Lemanski Collection. UNUSUAL!
