Scheelite on Quartz (old classic)

Item Description

A showy old-time combination piece from Zinnwald, Saxony. Sharp, lustrous, translucent, brown, tetragonal scheelite crystals to about 5 mm are nicely clustered on the sculptural quartz crystal and quartz matrix. The terminated quartz crystal is pristine. There is damage around the scheelites, but the remaining crystals are in excellent shape. Ghostly white fluorescence. Highly representative old combination material from this historic locale. From a museum collection, where it was on display.
