Item Description

Translucent, lustrous, brown scheelite crystals are richly to sparingly scattered on all sides, but one, of the very unusual looking doubly terminated quartz crystal with quartz "wings". Most of the quartz faces have a reddish iron oxide tint, except for the face, that has no scheelites! Strange. This facinating and most excellent combination is from the historic mines at Zinnwald. This surreal piece has only a couple of modest spots of bruising to the quartz. Certainly older material, but no proof. The faded Ward's label has a December 26, 1935 date written on it. The numbers match. Exceptional material for the locale. Ghostly white fluorescence.
