Item Description

An aesthetic combination specimen from the famous Taewha Mine of South Korea. A 2.7 x 2.0 cm, very gemmy and lustrous, chocolate-brown scheelite crystal is beautifully complimented by a smaller scheelite crystal, lustrous, brassy, chalcopyrite and a cluster of muscovite blades. The super sharp scheelite exhibits textbook octahedral form and is beautifully striated. These scheelites were long considered the world"s finest, until recently surpassed by the new Chinese finds. The frontal view is pristine, with the bruising on the back totally out of sight. A highly desirable scheelite combination from this famous locality. Excellent white fluorescence. Ex Ed Ruggiero Collection and according to his label, he acquired this fine piece from Pala Properties in Dallas in 1975. valued $500
