Item Description
A 1.5 cm, rich golden-orange, lustrous and translucent compound tetragonal scheelite crystal is jauntily perched on massive scheelite matrix on this rare example of old-time scheelite from Arizona. Today these are considered extremely important Arizona/USA classics from this obscure mine worked in the 1940s and 50s. The crystal is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with just a bit of bruising to the termination, which certainly is only a modest detraction to this very fine rarity. It glows a fiery orange, when backlit strongly. Ghostly white fluorescence. A MUST for the Arizona or species collector. Rare and very seldom on the market. ex Kay Robertson Collection, though it lost her original label.
