Item Description

An excellent combination piece from a classic and closed locality. Taewha Mine scheelites were long considered to be the world's finest, until recently. Very sharp, highly lustrous and partially translucent, grayish-purple, scheelite octahedrons to 1.5 cm are aesthetically clustered on both sides of the matrix of tan dolomite rhombs. This excellent piece has fine architecture and displays very well from three sides. Trivial bruising is noted to the scheelites on the front and one of the crystals on the back has a cleaved face. These are certainly only minimals detractions to this fine combination. Ghostly white fluorescence on the scheelites. Ex Phillips and Matioli Collections.
