Item Description
Sharp, lustrous, gray, bipyramidal scheelite crystals are dramatically and richly intergrown atop the elongated quartz matrix on this excellent two-sided combination from the famous Camp Bird Mine. The imposing large scheelite is 2.0 cm long and all of the crystals are pristine. These are easily the finest Colorado scheelites extant, and were discovered in 1987. Excellent 2-color fluorescence, bright yellow SW UV and ghostly white LW UV. This material was very limited on the market decades ago, and is now in very short supply, only found in older collections and dealers' inventories. Very fine scheelite and quartz from the Camp Bird and the Ted Bartels Collection.
