Scheelite and Quartz

Item Description

Scheelite from Pakistan has come out in a trickle from at least two localities over the last decade. It has a different visual aspect to it than the other Scheelites from China, Korea, or other sparser locales and when you see it, you just know it can't be from anywhere else. Part of the uniqueness of these Pakistani pieces is the association of the Scheelite with Quartz crystals. Here we have a 2.3 cm translucent, orange, tetragonal Scheelite crystal nestled in amongst 2 to 4.5 cm transparent to translucent Quartz crystals that are mostly complete and with great terminations. There are two incomplete Quartz crystals in the front and there is some peripheral contacting around the perimeter which includes the very outer part of the Scheelite crystal. This is a handsome, large and very representative piece from this Pakistan Scheelite locality.From the noted European and worldwide collection of Kurt Hefendehl.
