This sculptural and rich large vuggy ore specimen features striking concentric banded layers and reniform masses of mainly sphalerite and wurtzite. The labels state, that the piece also contains marcasite and the rare sulfosalts, jordanite, hutchinsonite, gratonite and geocronite (not analysed). Excellent, rich and hefty ore material from this ancient lead-silver mining district, dating back to the Celts and Romans (MINDAT)! This old lead-zinc mine closed in 1953. The back has been sawed.
