Scapolite is one of those stones that you rarely find in large cut gems. It is very very difficult to find clean gems that weigh over 5 carats. This stone is very great because it is a superb, richly colored, very very slightly included, "Concave Layered Triple Trillion" cut gem. This Tanzanian material is fairly new to the market, but is difficult to find in gems this size. This is a fine collector's stone and I think that this gem looks better in person than it does in the photographs. The cutting is really impressive and the color is wonderful for the material.
