Item Description
Outside of Amethyst and Kunzite, there aren't many PURPLE gem crystal species in the world. Typically gem Scapolite crystals are yellow or a variation of yellow, but the most desirable and sought after hue is purple. It should be noted that Scapolite itself is not a species but rather a series between Marialite and Meionite. This generic term is most often used in the gem world for both yellow and purple material, and the term "Scapolite" is often applied now to gem crystals in the mineral world. This little beauty is a nearly 100% GEM QUALITY single prism of purple Scapolite showing textbook tetragonal form with lustrous faces and excellent color. A beautiful example of this material. Weight is 16.61 carats.
