Item Description
Outside of Amethyst and Kunzite, there aren't many PURPLE gem crystal species in the world. Typically gem Scapolite crystals are yellow or a variation of yellow, but the most desirable and sought after hue is purple. It should be noted that Scapolite itself is not a species but rather a series between Marialite and Meionite. This generic term is most often used in the gem world for both yellow and purple material, and the term "Scapolite" is often applied now to gem crystals in the mineral world. This little beauty is a very gemmy single prism of yellow Scapolite showing textbook tetragonal form with fine luster, great internal GEM clarity and excellent color for a smaller sized crystal. A beautiful example of this material. This piece came from the Sawgart Collection.
