Scapolite

Item Description

A euhedral, sharp, soft yellow color, translucent prismatic crystal of Scapolite from the well-known locality at the Yates mine in Quebec, Canada. The piece is in good shape overall, with only a bit of roughness on one side. Typical for the locality, and worthwhile for a thumbnail collector or a collector of Canadian minerals. I don't know which species of Scapolite this is, as I can't find a listing anywhere if these have been identified as Meionite or Marialite.
