Item Description

A wonderful attractive, sharp, well-formed tetragonal purple crystal of purple Scapolite from Afghanistan. Outside of Amethyst and Kunzite, there aren't many PURPLE gem crystal species in the world. Typically gem Scapolite crystals are yellow or a variation of yellow, but the most desirable and sought after hue is purple. It should be noted that Scapolite itself is not a species but rather a series between Marialite and Meionite. This generic term is most often used in the gem world for both yellow and purple material, and the term "Scapolite" is often applied now to gem crystals in the mineral world. This little beauty is a shows good tetragonal form with highly lustrous faces on the termination and good color. A beautiful example of this material.
