Scapolite

Scapolite is one of those stones that you rarely find in large cut gems. It is very very difficult to find clean gems that weigh over 5 carats, let alone 6 carats. This stone is a very nice because it is a superb, very very slightly included, very good size, "Quantum Checkerboard Cushion" cut gem. This Tanzanian material is fairly new to the market, but is almost impossible to find in gems this size. This is a very fine collector's stone and it looks much better in person than it does in the photographs. The cutting is very good, and the color is excellent.
