Item Description

This remarkably rare Lead Anitmony oxy-sulfosalt is only found in a handful of world localities, and to the best of my knowledge, almost nothing is available on the market today. This particular piece features silvery-grey acicular crystals, which are elongated on the b [010] face, but have a distinctive almost velvety metallic luster and a slight bluish overtone, which apparently is caused by the alternation of the crystals themselves. The Scainiite is sitting on host rock matrix, and under high magnification (see my micro photos), the crystals are good for species and the locality. If you're a systematic collector, or a rare species mineral collector, do NOT miss out on this wonderful specimen from Slovakia.
