Item Description

Sartorite is a very rare lead arsenic sulfosalt, originally discovered in 1868 at the Lengenbach Quarry in Switzerland. The species was named after Wolfgang Sartorius von Waltershausen (1809 - 1876) a professor of Mineralogy at the University of Gottingen, Germany. The piece features micro lead grey Sartorite on host rock matrix from the Type Locality. Along with the rarity and the fact that it comes from one of the most prolific localities in the world, it is accompanied by labels from Josef Vajdak which immediately increase the value in my mind.
