Item Description
Sapphires are well-known gems, even to those without a background in the gem/mineral world. I woul say that the most well-known gem from Montana is Sapphire. These stones are among finest and most prolific from any locality in North America. Here we have a beautiful pastel blue colored Sapphire with slight inclusions and a "Round Brilliant" cut. The stone has NOT been heated or treated, which makes it all the more valuable, as most of them have some kind of treatment, heating or otherwise. This would make a great addition to a Sapphire suite, or a suite of gems from the United States. A very attractive gem for this classic U.S. Sapphire locality. Sapphires are some of the most highly desirable gems in the world, and good stones from Montana are highly sought after in the gem world. I've seen these stones sell for $1,500 per carat and more at major gem shows.
