Item Description
Superb, rich and dramatically sculptural old-time sapphire from an obscure region in the Ural Mountains of Russia. Three striking stacked clusters of lustrous rich cornflower-blue tabular hexagonal offset sapphire crystals enclosing starkly contrasting massive quartz comprise this surreal, bizarre looking combination specimen. The sapphire crystal plates are up to 5.0 cm across! Formerly in the Fersman Museum in Moscow. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1999. A unique and rich Russian sapphire.
