Item Description
The Sapphires from this locality are some of the most well-formed and attractive examples of Sapphire from any locality in the middle east. This single crystal shows textbook hexagonal form with excellent sharp faces, above average luster and a notably rich saturated color. The piece is a complete doubly-terminated "floater" with no point of attachment. I'm told that these are found in marble and leached out. Fine quality all around, and although it's not gemmy, it's still a very attractive blue Sapphire crystal. A fine piece for any thumbnail collector or a fan of gem crystal species. Specimen weight is 12.86 carats.
