Item Description

This is the biggest and finest Sapphire crystal that we've ever had from this locality to offer in the auctions. The piece is not only large and robust, but it's also euhedral and well-formed, so it's not a "chunk" of Sapphire, but rather an attractive crystallized specimen. The piece has good hexagonal crystal form with fairly sharp faces, and a medium grey-blue color on all sides. The piece is mostly complete all around, with only a bit of interrupted growth in areas. If you collect minerals/crystals, rare locality specimens or if you're a fan of minerals of North Carolina, don't miss out on this attractive and very worthwhile example from this lesser known Sapphire mine. The piece weighs 176.0 grams.
